Dakar co-driver TIna Thörner back in Switzerland!
Tina Thörner, Swedish co-driver, has returned back to her home in Salenstein, Switzerland, after a period in Sweden where she´s been doing a lot of interviews, coaching, teamworking and ofcourse spending time with her closest family. I had the chance of talking to her briefly on the phone.
Now, she says, is the time for the last preparations before taking of to South America. It´s all about maps, routes and navigation at the moment. You need to prepare as much as possible. Once there it´s all about using the preparation, experience and instinct.
"The biggest differences in the South American terrain is that the nature there is much more challenging, compared to Africa. And this means more danger, and surely it requires even more focus of the driver aswell as myself, prioritising right, at the right moment, Tina says.
The departure date from Europe is as of now, not settled, which might bring Tina to celebrate Christmas in Buenos Aires. The take off date will be somewhere between the 20th and 25th of December.
Tina is the co-driver of Frenchman Guerlain Chichi Chicherit, in the X-raid BMW team. Read more about Tina and her Dakar experience here.
