Playstation, X-box and mobile platforms - gaming in the Dakar rally history!

Earlier this week the Dakar organization annonced that the 2010 Dakar rally game is here, a virtual paralell rally to the real thing. The game is free of charge, played in your browser, and starts on January 2nd, pre-registration is already up and running. Sound as if it could be worthwhile checking into!

Ultimate Rally Challenge
Ultimate Rally Challenge is also a game which is available to play online, for free, without registration, it´s not a "Dakar" sign-off, but sure comes as close to it as possible. 3 different stages, 1st in Portugal, and two in Africa. Seems to be a collaboration of Red Bull, Castrol, BP and Volkswagen. Play here!

Dakar rally 2009 (EA Mobile)
Release date: 26th of November, 2008

DAKAR Rally 2009 is a mobile device game that lets you race through Buenos Aries, Santa Rosa, La Rioja and more, running a trail over the new 6000km of point-to-point racing course that stretches across South America. In Championship Mode, you must navigate your way through nine tough stages, racing other competitors across varied terrain including mud, tarmac and sand to claim the trophy. Alternatively, you can select Time Attack mode and pit your wits against the clock and your friends to post the fastest times possible.

Paris Dakar Rally 2(Acclaim)
Release date: 3rd of June, 2003
The sequel to Paris-Dakar Rally on PlayStation 2 and is based on the real-life Paris Dakar Rally.
