Once again Swedish Dakar Annie Seel was the stagewinner in the Dakar Ladies cup, this is what she said on the phone from the bivoac close to La Rioja.
"The stage of today was very, very foggy the first 100km, hard to distinguish pretty much anything. At one point I almost encountered a cow that was standing on the road - ha ha, he didn´t know on which side I was gonna pass, and I didn´t know where he was heading. But we managed that situation pretty well and I could continue the race.
Weather wise we had a lot of rain today, pretty much all the way up till refueling. And ofcourse this made the leg very, very wet, and slippery. A lot of the riders probably had some problems due to the circumstanses, and also with the bigger machines, but me, coming from Sweden with all the rain, mud and clay you could ask for it was probably an advantage.
Superrocket, my bike, is also working like a clock, perhaps loosing some time on the straight flat-outs, but it doesn´t matter, when it comes to the more tricky parts it evens out- we make a perfect match."
