Already from the begining of todays stage it was clear that something else than last days tie was going to come down. Annie Seel passed check point one at a 15th position, not just a lucky strike it turned out, as she stayed in the top 20´s till the kilometer mark 292, then dropped down and finished at 31st.1hour, 15 minutes and 57 seconds behind todays winner Coma! Incredible!
This was Swedish motorcyclist Annie Seels fifth stage win in the Ladies Cup of the 2010 Dakar rally.
Mirjam Pol has, second in the Ladies cup, as of now, reached the 359th kilometer mark, and will end up at an estimated 51th position.
Total length of todays stage was 598 kilometers, and the special stretch 418, the stage of today starting in Antofagasta finishing in Iquique, Chile.
The total numbers of motorcycles starting in the 2010 Dakar rally was 156.
This morning there were 108 still in the race.
Of those there were 5 women.
Nothing more to add to that!
Italian Giannetti passed the 292 kilometer mark in an 69th position, followed by German Christina Meier on a potential 77th position, British Tamsin Jones passed the 195 mark at 88th and still has a long nights run.
As always! Keep cool - the Dakar is the Dakar!
