Dakar motorcyclist Thomas Berglund is also reporting on his whereabouts today:
Yet another day has come to an end and today Thomas covered a 670 kilometer stretch, of which 483 was the special, so far the longest stage in this years rally. The task of the day involved compass navigation in open areas, where there were a lot of ditches, wholes and hills. Thomas chose to go easy today, driving on the safe side, not to put everything at stake. Last years retirement, due to a crash, happened in similar conditions, and probably a tactical choice on Thomas behalf. For most of todays stretch Thomas was driving in the 22nd position, towards the end he moved up a bit, finishing as 18th.
This on the other hand showed in the overall, where he moved down one spot, now at 14th position. Then again, it´s only about a 7 minute gap to the 10th position, meaning the goal is still within reach.
Well done Thomas!
