Dakar rally Tina Thörner "Rough gets going"

Swedish co-driver Tina Thörner in the BMW X-raid team says on her Dakar blog that it has been two crazy days!
On the third stage they started out as number two, and on the course just passing the 50 kilometer marking a very long hill climb in sand started, 9 kilometers in total, and on the way the motor overheated and that´s where the overtaking started. Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz and Mark Miller passed them by, made them wondering how slow they where moving ahead, but due to the engine they just couldn´t move on any faster. So that day finished in the results as number five.

Preparations where made in the evening for the next days passing through the Andes, late nights work. Roadbook, oxygene masks concidering the altitude of 4700 meters and thin air and others!

An early morning was to be followed, and almost 400 kilometers going through the mountain passage, on the way to the start of stage 4, mountains everywhere and they started to get hungry, still on the connecting route. By a miners camp Tina and Chichi turned off, asked if they could bye some lunch, and they were served well - a three course meal.
Finally the special stage 4 took of, unfortunately a flat tire caused them a delay. Reaching the finish 12 minutes behind the flying Robby Gordon.

Tina expects there will be a lot to read on her blog up till the restday, cause this is where "the rough gets going!"
