Stage 12 San Juan - San Rafael

STAGE 12: SAN JUAN - SAN RAFAEL

The Dakar in South America
Swedish motorcyclist Annie Seel has given her point of view on the stages in South America!

Stage 12: San Juan - San Rafael
They say we will be travelling through dinasour territory today, I know for a fact there are a few of them in the rally...The landscape of today invites us to a stretch that will carry us through old river canyons, that has grown deep. It will be like going on a bob sleigh ride in those. High speed. You could easily lose your way and run in the wrong canyon which easily could have you loose a lot of time, or worse have a bad fall. 200 kilometers, the last part, will be sandy, where there will be a lot of whoopsies, not one driver will pass the 100km/h mark on there speedometers. And no one will make any armstands when reaching the bivouac.

The Route
Connection/transport:   23km
Special stage:             476km
Connection/transport: 297km
Total:                         796km

Altitude variations stage 11-14:
50-3500 msl (meter above sea level)
