Dakar 2012 - Extends South American adventure to include Peru!

The 2011 Dakar rally came to an end. As always too quickly! My journey was an adventure in its own way being  on spot following the race closely. Realizing that everyone, no matter your role, is running their own Dakar, and it all melts down to one thing: TIME. To get your story ready as the rally is moving forward, as well as yourself. Not an easy task to keep up. And on top of that some difficulties with time differences, close call for Swedish press to make it on time. Some days lucky, others not so. Last three nights the total number of hours of sleep came down to eight. Can´t remember the last time I was that beat up! Incredible to see them  riders doing their thing, with or without sleep. Did take  me some time to get back in shape. Thanks for following my blog,  for the messages, for the mails and even phone calls!

Dakar 2012: 1st to the 15th of January

Now looking forward to the 2012 Dakar rally and just before lunch today the announcement was made public -  Peru is included in the upcoming South American adventure! Congratulations! This will mean yet another fantastic rally run in one of the world´s greatest sceneries, cheering crowds and locals. Not only a rumor overheard in the bivouac, it´s for real! 4 stages in Peru was the talk in the bivouac. Just hope Robby Gordon will give it yet another shot! The plans for the Swedish participants might be coming together, let me clue you in later, as well as when it comes to the female participants on two wheels.

The rally will start in Argentina for the fourth time, crossing the Chilean border and Andes to make the final destination where the prize ceremony will be held in Lima, Peru.
