2011 Redtread-Marbella 1-1

We left the Redtread Mansion this morning with mixed feelings. All due to a great stay , hospitality and best offroad riding.

Thank you so much Edward, Digger, Bart, Leslie and Adrian. You made the difference and we will be sure to return in a near future. And for the rest of you out there thinking of going offroad riding - do consider the Readtread as one of your choices. You won´t be disappointed!

Throuhout the day we have been trying to summarize the impressions of the various days we´ve had on the routes, just to realize that there were so many moments of great riding and experience it all kind of blurs up. "Must have been that day we rode on the white gravel, or was it that day we went on that enduro track, or in the riverbed or on the red clay?" By the end of the day we just say: GREAT RIDING!

And of course knowing there had never ever been any other girls as fast riding as us visiting the mansion (due to Camilla I might add) sure got our egos double the size from once arriving in Spain ;-)

Reaching a beautiful and sunny Marbella was great and further so the hotel that Peter had signed us up for, right on the beach walk and with a great pool area where we spent the afternoon.

Leaving some great offroad surroundings to enter a more coastal area with sun and warmth is just the best of two worlds.

The evening was spent in Puerto Banus and finally back to Miramar Spa Hotel. And tomorrow will be another lazy day by the pool. I´d like to think of this holiday as: "Cause we´re worth it!"

2011 Redtread riding in Spain - day 3

And finally the weather cleared up completely and we started out going downwards. Never really found my pace of riding today and it was a bit of a struggle to get into the flow. The others seemed to do very well. One great thing we got to do today was to ride in the river bed. Camilla did show us how to do this, and ended up having a flat tire. Darn. Digger and Bart was set to work and changed it on spot, ofcourse.

2011 Redtread riding in Spain - day 2

Yet another day of fantastic scenery and great riding. Today we went to the north of Competa overlooking the mountains of Sierra Nevada, at least briefly...clouds were hanging low and we had our fair share of rain on the tracks. Very varied riding today, from loose gravel to river beds and winding routes of mud.

The group has been doing fine, no major injuries so far, a few blisters and some sore muscles. Camilla is in the lead, she hasn´t fallen once. Or as she likes to refer to it: "It was the bike that wasn´t strong enough and that is the reason I tilted it". I´ve gone down twice so far...

2011 Redtread riding in Spain - day 1

Wow. I just completely realized that I forgot all about offroad riding and the thrill it brings. What a great day we´ve had in the southern Spanish mountains. Totally worn out and just hanging out on the patio of the Redtread mansion here in Competa.

Started out this morning after a breakfast and hit the surrounding mountains of Competa. A quick warm-up and then we went off on our Honda 450´s. Four Swedes; Camilla, Peter and Tomas and myself joined by Hungarian European Commissioner Laszlo lead by Redtread's eminent guides.

A great lunch close to the ocean and then some more twisty and windy roads making it back at in the late afternoon. For sure it will be a great nights sleep. Hitting the sack in a few minutes...And hoping tomorrow will  be just another great day without anyone losing it and going over the edge...

Easter offroad riding in Spain!

Just another two days before we head down to a sunny and warm Spain for some Eastern offroad riding. We will be staying at the Redtread Mansion close to Malaga and Nerja, and all we got to do is show up on the premises, no need to bring bike, gear or safety equipment. All is there. Bikes to be used will be Honda crf 250 or crf 450. And I just can´t wait!

Here´s an inspirational video from Jimmy, Great Britain, who visited the mansion in March. A little long,  but just to give an idea of the scenery and riding grounds. And all I could think was ....must not look down...must not look down...must not...
